I think I’m prepared. I don’t want to be too rehearsed, or memorise a script, because I’m afraid that I won’t come across as natural. It could all end up sounding forced and hammy, which I’m pretty sure it’s going to anyway, so no point adding fuel to that particular fire. No, I have written out a script, but just to get an idea of time (roughly 7-10 minutes), and I pretty much have it clear what I want to say and when I want to say it. I have the topics I’m talking about written down, and bullet points under each topic. If I get lost, or lose sense of the order, I can just glance at that. So it’s not freezing or going blank that I’m really worried about, though I am a bit worried! It’s just trying to say it all in a natural, comfortable way. It’s going to be a while before I find my tone, or what kind of delivery best suits me.

Of course this post could seem hilariously naive in hindsight, when at the gig I wet myself within fifteen seconds on stage, subsequently vomit on the people sitting to my immediate left and spend the next 10 minutes nervously farting as I profusely apologise to everyone in the room. I’d imagine in that scenario the audience would be laughing at me rather than with me.

I’m looking forward to it though. I’ll let you know my thoughts on how it all went down this weekend, when I’ve had a couple of days to process it all. In the meantime my first full blog should be hitting the internets. Right now I’m going to try to relax and unwind, playing some viddy games and watching me stories.
